Curious about how the City of Mebane operates behind the scenes? The 2026–2027 Mebane Citizens Academy gives participants a firsthand look at local government, opportunities to meet City leaders, and a better understanding of how City departments work together to serve the community.

Sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month from September through April, from 6:30–8 p.m.

Topics may include City government, the Planning Board and City Council, Parks and Recreation, public safety, Public Works and Utilities, the budget process, downtown development, water resource recovery, and tours of City facilities.

Participants must be 14 years of age or older. Drop-ins are welcome and may register on-site, but advance registration is encouraged, as space is limited.
