Mebane Main Street Celebration
July 31, 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Join the Downtown Mebane Development Corporation and the City of Mebane on Monday, July 31, in downtown Mebane on Fourth Street between Clay and Center Street for the Main Street America Celebration. This event marks a historic moment for the city as Main Street America is a mark of distinction, a seal recognizing that participating programs are part of a national movement with a proven track record for celebrating community character, preserving local history, and generating impressive economic returns.
The Mebane Main Street Celebration will be an old-fashioned, red, white, and blue All-American street party. The event is free to the public, with food available for purchase from the following food trucks: Fat Man and His Food, Baconessence, and Father and Son Gourmet Wieners. Mayor Ed Hooks will be the emcee for the event, and special guest Liz Parham, the Director of NC Main Street & Rural Planning Center at the NC Department of Commerce, will be in attendance. Come enjoy musical performances by Alamance County’s own Mason Lovette Band and national recording artists Dewey & Leslie Brown and The Carolina Gentlemen. No celebration is complete without the Burlington Fire Department Honor Guard and Bradford Academy students singing the national anthem. Enjoy cupcakes from Lou’s Bakery and ice cream from Muffin’s Ice Cream Shoppe while you take in the electrifying spectacle of dance performances, art, history, crafts, and more.
