It's officially spring, and with that comes warm weather, the bloom of flowers, and walks in the park. With this, what better way to spend these spring days than by gathering with friends and family to enjoy the beauty of one of Mebane's most beloved traditions, the Mebane Dogwood Festival?

This year will be the 37th year of the Annual Mebane Dogwood Festival. Taking place in late April, the Dogwood trees in Mebane are sure to be in full bloom, marking the perfect time to celebrate spring and community. As the longest-running street festival in Alamance County, it's a beloved tradition that brings together neighbors and newcomers alike for a weekend of fun, lively entertainment, and community spirit. This year's festival will occur from Friday, April 25, through Saturday, April 26.
Teeing off Spring
The festivities kick off Friday morning with the Mebane Dogwood Golf Tournament. Registration and breakfast for participants begins at 8 a.m., with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. This tournament allows golf enthusiasts to come together for friendly competition and community fellowship. The tournament will take place at Mill Creek Golf Club. The cost for a team of four is $400, and for individuals is $100. For more information, visit the 2025 Mebane Dogwood Golf Tournament. Whether you're a seasoned pro or want to practice your swing with others, the golf tournament is a great way to start your weekend.
Racing Through the Night
As the sun sets in Mebane, runners lace up their shoes and prepare for the 5K Night Race, which starts at 6:30 p.m. This Friday evening event is great for experienced runners, fitness lovers, families, and those who want to stroll! If your kiddo wants to run, but not for that long, the festival offers a free Kids Dogwood Dash, which kicks off at 6 p.m. This event evokes excitement for all, not just the runners but also friends, family, and festival-goers cheering on the runners. There is still time to sign up for the 5K! For more information on the run, visit 5K / Dogwood Dash. Maybe I'll see you there!
Carnival Rides and Good Times
Around the time the Dogwood Dash and 5K begin, so do the classic carnival rides and yummy food trucks. From 6 to 10 p.m., the Dogwood Festival truly comes to life with an array of outdoor fun, from the fun slide to bounce houses to freshly squeezed lemonade. The food choices are endless, along with the fun. At 7 p.m., the excitement continues with the Mason Lovette Band playing live until 10 p.m. The Mobile Library will also make a pit stop at the festival from 6 to 10 p.m.

New this year is the Kid Zone! From 6 p.m. to dark, kids can enjoy Touch-a-Truck, Photo Opportunities with Special Characters, tie-dye shirts, and more! When the sun fully sets, the festival will present Movies in the Park at Third and Clay Street. The special showing will be Sonic 3 (PG).
The carnival rides will twirl and spin into Saturday, where the festival begins day two, opening at 10 a.m. and wrapping up by 7 p.m., introducing arts and crafts and multiple entertainment stages featuring various performances. Over 200 vendors will also be available for festival-goers to shop at or browse, keeping the atmosphere lively and bright all weekend.

Crusin' Downtown
Gear up for the Dogwood Annual Car Show, proudly sponsored by Mebane Auto Group. This incredible showcase includes all makes and models, including trucks and motorcycles, and is sure to rev up the energy on day two of the festivities. Taking place on Saturday, April 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., your classic vehicles will be the star of the show. What makes a showcase better than a bit of friendly competition? Trophies will be awarded to the best vehicle in the following divisions (stock & modified for each age class): 1959 and Older, 1960-1969, 1970-1999, 2000 and newer. Be sure to stop by W Ruffin Street between N 2nd Street and N 3rd Street in downtown Mebane in the Wrenn Accounting and Farm Bureau Insurance parking lots to show off your car or browse the many classics this show offers. If you want to participate in the showcase, registration costs $20. This car show has seen over 85 cars in previous years, so register and get to the stage early! Staging opens up at 7 a.m. on the day of the show. Get ready to show off your ride and be part of an exciting day at the Dogwood Festival!
